We merken dat de eerste bezoekers al op het log hebben rondgekeken. We krijgen ook mailtjes met betrekking tot het insturen van commentaar. Hier volgt een instructie en uitleg. Gebruik de commentaar optie in plaats van emails, die kunnen we in ZA moeilijker lezen.

Om een commentaar op een bericht in te sturen, klik op comments rechtsonder het bericht. Er gaat een venster open waar je naam, email en commentaar kunt intypen. Daarna klik je op submit comment. Je zult het resultaat niet direct kunnen zien. Elk commentaar moet eerst goedgekeurd worden. Dat is gedaan om te voorkomen dat er ongewenste berichten op onze site komen.

Nadat een commentaar is goedgekeurd wordt het getal links naast het woord comments met een opgehoogd. Je ziet dan hoeveel commentaren er op een bericht zijn geplaatst. Kijk maar eens bij ons bericht van zondag 19 November, daar staat een prettig commentaar.

To submit a comment click on comments in the righthand corner below any message. A window wil open were you can type your name, email address and comment. Don’t forget to click on submit comment when you are done. You will not see your comment instandly. It will have to be approved first. We did this to avoid spam and other unwanted messages.

After a comment is approved the number on the left next to the word comments will be updated. You can see how many comments have been submitted and approved. Just check our post from November 19, there is a pleasant comment submitted.

We hebben de volgende verbeteringen aangebracht:

1. We hebben besloten om onze berichten ook in het Engels toe te voegen. Met terugwerkende kracht. De Nederlandstalige tekst zal worden gevolgd door een versie in het Engels.
2. Het uiterlijk van de site is totaal veranderd. We vonden de vorige versie toch te somber en donker. Bovendien bleek niet alles zo te werken als het eigenlijk moest. Speurwerk op internet leverde de nu geïnstalleerde versie op.
3. Door de nieuwe inrichting van het log is het nu ook mogelijk het lokale weerbericht weer te geven. Dat leek ons leuk voor de achterblijvers.

We have improved the web log with the following facilities:

1. We will write our posts bilingual. Following the text in Dutch we will insert an Englisch version of the message.
2. We changed the look and feel of the log. We wanted a lighter and brighter appearance than what we had before. The installed version was found on the internet.
3. The newly installed look and feel (and the software behind it) allows us to include the local weather forecast. A nice feature for those who stay behind.

Zo, alles wat vooraf moest worden geregeld is voor elkaar.
De tickets waren al langer besteld dus die hadden we al.
De overnachtingen in de nationale parken die we willen bezoeken zijn bevestigd. Een overzicht van de parken in Zuid Afrika is te zien via de link naar de Nationale Parkenraad. Welke parken we gaan bezoeken blijft nog even een geheim. Blijven terugkomen en je merkt het als we erover rapporteren.
De huur van de auto is bevestigd. We hebben voor het gemak een 4×4 met camper opbouw gehuurd. We gaan ook naar Robben Eiland, waar Nelson Mandela zo’n 27 jaar gevangen heeft gezeten. Daarvoor moet je vanwege de grote belangstelling ook vooraf reserveren. Ook die bevestiging is nu binnen. Voor meer informatie over Robben Eiland kun je de link gebruiken naar het museum.
Tot slot nog vooraf een jungletocht en Tarzan achtig slingerwerk geboekt. Speciaal op 6 december. Ook dit is nader te bekijken via de link naar Canopy Tour.

All preparations are finished. The tickets were already issued a while ago. Now all the other arrangements are finalised. The camps in the National Parks are confirmed. You can have a look at the South African National Parks site and see what we are up to. What parks we are going to visit will be reveiled during the trip.
The camper hire is confirmed. We hired a 4×4 camper. We will also go to Robben Island. It is a popular place to visit. So booking in advance is necessary. We received the confirmation for the booking, so that is settled as well. For more information on Robben Island follow the link to the Robben Island Museum.
Finally we booked a special attraction where we will be expected to play Tarzan and Jane. The Canopy Tour promises a special adventure as a special birthday present, thanks to a tip straight from SA. There is a link for more information on the Canopy Tour as well.
