Nogmaals Kaapstad – Cape Town again
Dag 21, dinsdag 12 december.
Vandaag wakker in een echt bed, heerlijk. Na een rustig ontbijt gingen we weer op weg naar Kaapstad. Ditmaal vooral om de camper in te leveren waar we zo’n 3000 km. mee hebben afgelegd. Verder zijn we ook nog de stad in geweest. Dit keer vooral het centrum. We bezochten het oudste gebouw van Zuid-Afrika: het fort (genaamd het kasteel) dat in 1666 door de VOC is gebouwd. Een goed voorbeeld van 17de eeuwse Hollandse vestingbouw. Daarna nog wat door de straten van het centrum geslenterd, maar dat was niet bijster interessant en bovendien veel te heet (30 graden). De terugreis naar Hermanus ging via de toeristische route die langs de kust loopt. ’s Avonds heeft Vasi, die ons vreselijk verwend, weer lekker voor ons gekookt!
Day 21, Tuesday 12 December.
Today we woke up in a real bed. After breakfast we left for Cape Town. We had to return our camper. We calculated that we had driven 3000 km. in 20 days. We also went into Cape Town. This time to visit the fort, which was build by the Dutch in 1666 and is the oldest building in South Africa. We also walked through the centre of the city, which we thought was not very interesting and absolutely no fun with a temperature of 30 degrees. The trip back to Hermanus we used the scenic route along the coast.Vasi is spoiling us terribly with excellent food and wine.
